Welcome to my website and thank you for visiting.  I am delighted to share with you my background and experiences on how I became a skilled Voice Coach Trainer, Voice-Over artist, lecturer and Storytelling/ Literacy Expert.

I studied Drama and Theatre studies at University, followed by Drama school in East London working in repertory theatre for a year.  An acting career pursued and whilst teaching Performing Arts to seven year olds, I discovered a love for teaching. Soon after, a teaching career was pursued and before long, ten whole years had passed.  I decided that I wanted to work more closely with teachers helping them become confident, skilled professionals. I worked as a teacher trainer for a children’s literacy charity training over 600 teachers and 400 parents nationally in Phonics.  I love delivering training and engaging with an audience; it gives me a real buzz.  Presently, I work part time at Middlesex University as a Primary English lecturer helping young teachers on their training year.  I have the flexibility to pursue my passion of Voice Over work, where I voice commercial, audio narratives and corporate recordings.

Teaching is one profession where your voice and presence need to be at the top of their game.  I noticed many young teachers lacking confidence in front of the class, not making use of their voice to draw their young audience in and, speaking in non-standard forms of English (i.e. incorrect grammar, poor enunciation and articulation of words).  This is where I decided to coach teachers and other professionals who speak in front of large groups.  The coaching I offer provides my clients with confidence and skills to develop their voice as well as tools to help them engage with their audience.

I love nothing better than reading a story to my nieces and nephews and seeing their little faces light up as I bring a story to life using my voice.  This is where I offer storytelling workshops for schools where children receive hands on, practical experience on telling and reading a story through the use of drama.  My workshops for parents are on how they can deliver a story effectively for bedtime and with the use of a storybox.  There are also tips on how to ask questions to help your child comprehend what was read.

If you would like to know more about what I do, please contact me and I will be in touch with you very soon.

Many thanks,

Alexia
